Jean Amos Mohr of Wooster OH, age 95, passed June 14, 2025. Preceded in death by husband Robert Mohr, son Rick Mohr, and brothers Jerry, Ronnie and John Amos. Survived by daughter Cindy (Bob) McCauley, son Michael (Laura) Mohr, grandchildren Ben McCauley (Paige Burton), Mikaela Mohr (Jayson Taylor), and Cassie Mohr; great grandchildren Dylan McCauley, Josie Taylor, and special friend Brenda Doyle.

Jean was a lifelong Democrat who formerly served as Wayne County elected party chair, former school board member for Triway Local Schools, realtor, and volunteer for the Wayne County Humane Society. She was active in the Canine Therapy Companion program with Patrick, her beloved Irish Setter. Jean was a Graduate of Shreve High School, 1948.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the care staff of Lifecare Truman House in New Philadelphia, Ohio, Wayne County Lifecare Hospice in Wooster, Ohio.

A private family service will be held at a later date.

McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster is assisting the family.

In lieu of flowers donations may be directed to Ohio’s Hospice Lifecare 1900 Akron Rd. Wooster, OH 44691.

  5. I am a better person for having known Jean. She changed my life and the future of my family. She taught me so much and was a beautiful mentor. I will miss her and think of her often.

    Jean served as a Member and Board Chair of the Wayne County Board of Elections for years. She was definitely a “force” in the political world.
