Larry Allen Hoxworth
December 16, 1946 – June 19, 2025

Larry Allen Hoxworth, 78, of Tippecanoe, Ohio, peacefully passed away at his beloved home on Tappan Lake on June 19, 2025, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Born on December 16, 1946, in Millersburg, Ohio, Larry was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He spent the majority of his professional life as a talented hairstylist, owning and operating several successful salons under the name Tangles. He was known for his strong work ethic and his commitment to providing for his family. In addition to his primary career, Larry also spent some time working as a realtor. He was always eager to take on new challenges and help others.

Larry proudly served in the National Guard, where he developed a deep appreciation for marksmanship. A true outdoorsman, he loved hunting, target shooting, and spending time in nature. He also enjoyed playing billiards and vacationing with family and friends. Boating was another favorite pastime, and he often took his family out on the lake to share in the experience. Larry especially loved dancing with his wife to oldies music, a joy they shared often. During their retirement, he and Karen enjoyed escaping the Ohio winters by spending time in Bonita Springs, Florida, where they made lasting memories together. After retiring, Larry settled at Tappan Lake, a place he cherished, and became an active member of the Twin City Sportsman’s Club. There, he found meaningful connection and community, especially following Karen’s passing.

He is survived by his sister, Theresa Clark of Wooster; his children, Tamara Shultz of Massillon and Tyson (Kristi) Hoxworth of Plain City; his grandchildren, Chasidy Hoxworth-Jones (husband Josh and daughter Jakaiyla), Chayah Magee, Venita Shultz, Dax Hoxworth, and Isla Hoxworth; and nephew Mark Clark.

Larry was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Karen Hoxworth; his daughter, Tiffany Hoxworth; and his parents, Dennis Hoxworth and Betty Kiraly.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 5, 2025, at McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, located at 216 E Larwill St, Wooster, OH 44691. Calling hours will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., followed immediately by the funeral service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Crossroads Hospice & Palliative Care (330-778-8933) or the Twin City Sportsman’s Club (P.O. Box 284, Uhrichsville, Ohio 44683) in Larry’s honor.
