Karen Lynn Bakston, 63, of Wooster died on Wednesday, July 23, 2025 at Cleveland Clinic Main Campus in Cleveland.

She was born February 1, 1962 in Buffalo, NY to Martin and Dorothy Griffin Bakston.

Karen loved thrifting, especially at Mission Thrift, Goodwill and Habitat for Humanity.  She also enjoyed helping people out, watching YouTube videos, loved a good steak and liver and onions.  Karen was a firecracker and was the stubborn glue that held her family together.  Most of all, she loved her family and her life.

She is survived by her children Jeffrey Bakston of Wooster, Jessica Rogers of Wooster, Joseph Rogers of Smithville and Jarrett Rogers of Wooster; grandchildren Kevin Rogers, Paul “PJ” Miller and Jacob Hunt; brother Robert (Goldie) Bakston of Wellington.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Richard Bakston and William Bakston, Sr.

There will be no services.

McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster is assisting the family.

Contributions may be directed to the funeral home to help defray expenses.
