Emma J (Butler) Sigler
Emma J Sigler, 96, of Wooster, passed away on August 11, 2025 at Hospice LifeCare. Born May 27, 1929 in Holmes County to Dale and Florence (Marshall) Butler, she was married to the late Andrew Sigler for 65 years.
A loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Emma cherished time with family, playing cards, knitting, and making her famous chocolate chip cookies. She worked in the office at the Wayne County Fair for many years and also won numerous ribbons for her entries in the fair. She volunteered at People-to-People Ministries, was a 4-H advisor, and with her husband installed medical alert systems for Wooster Community Hospital.
Emma was a longtime and active member of Shreve Christian Church and current member of Central Christian Church in Wooster. She was advisor for church youth groups, Chi Rho and CYF and an active member of Christian Women’s Fellowship where she served on many committees.
Surviving are daughters Susan (Kenneth) Kofsky of Powell and Deborah Monaghan of Wooster; grandchildren Krista (Jim) Miller of Apple Creek, Steven (Meghan Dunne) Kofsky of Brooklyn, NY, Michael (Liza) Kofsky of Denver and Amy Carmony of Wooster; great-grandchildren Hailey Houtenbrink, Khaniya Kofsky, Aedan and Annabelle Carmony; siblings Robert, Millersburg; Don (Joyce) Butler, Jeromesville; John (Marsha) Butler, Loudonville; and Alice (Robert) Bowers, Wooster; sister-in-law Dorothy Butler, Wooster and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her husband; sisters Eileen, Hazel, Beulah, Martha, and Dorothy; and brothers Charles, Frank, Russell, Arthur, Ronald, and Raymond.
Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2025 at 11:00 AM at McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster with Pastor Kirk Fairhurst officiating. Burial will follow at Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
Friends will be received on Friday, August 15, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

I remember spending many happy days with the Siglers. Your mom was a very special lady. My mom and she were good friends.
Some of my best childhood memories were spent together with the three of you. She will always hold a special place in my heart.

I met Emma about 15 years ago , she came to the beauty salon where I worked.we had wonderful conversations, and she shared her baked pineapple recipe , which was her family’s holiday tradition . I heard story’s about her grand children, and her famous cookies.Thru Emma I met Deb,and enjoyed our chats.. Please except my condolences ,
Emma was a really sweet lady! I worked with her part time at Shreve Printing, she was a joy to work with. I ran into her a couple times in Wooster and we talked for a bit, it was always so nice to see and talk with her. My condolences for your loss.
So saddened to have read about another iconic women has left this earth.
Our family met several family from Shreve thru the community and church activities.The Sigler family was one of those beautiful families.
Where ever Emma was Andy was supportive.Where Andy was Emma was supportive .

Their fine exemplary actions will be missed . As we say ….”it is very hard to loose parents when they are great ones”
