Donald C. Beckler, 74, of Wooster passed away suddenly on Sunday, August 24, 2025, at his home.
Donnie was born on October 5, 1950, in Wooster where he was a 1969 graduate of Triway High School. He was a full back on the football team where he was chosen as MVP of the football team as well as making the All-Wayne County Team. During his working career, he was a supervisor at Buckeye Container for many years, eventually he retired from Quality Fiberglass. His pastimes included but were not limited to hunting, fishing, racing, tinkering and restoring motorized equipment, woodworking, working on the family farm, and cooking in his smoker for family gatherings. His greatest joy was riding his Harley and spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren. Donnie is well known for his outspoken nature, but no one can deny the love he had for his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Lowell and Eleanor Leedy Beckler, and brother Ronnie & sister-in-law Dorothy Beckler.
In addition to his wife of 55 years Mary Jo he survived by his children Steve (Cindy) Beckler of Wooster and Lisa (Chad) Oneacre of Doylestown; grandchildren Cole, Parker, Grant & Caroline; siblings Bonnie Edwards, Larry (Deb) Beckler, and Gary (Linda) Beckler all of Wooster; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to United Cerebral Palsy, 10011 Euclid Ave., Cleveland, Ohio 44106, Down Syndrome Association of Northeast Ohio, 6533-B Brecksville Rd, Independence, Ohio 44131 or a charity of your choice.
A Service of Remembrance will be held on Sunday, August 31, 2025, at 2:00 PM at McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster.
Friends will be received on Sunday from 12:00 to 2:00 PM at the funeral home.

I am shocked and heartbroken to hear Donnie has passed. Donnie had the biggest heart and would do anything for anyone. Donnie was very outspoken but you knew where he stood. He cared for others and kept in touch getting people together. Rest in peace dear friend. Keeping Jo & family in our thoughts and prayers.

Jo and family so sad to hear about Donnie! Worked with him for many years and one of the memories of him that still makes me chuckle was the enjoyment he got from coming into the office and telling the corniest jokes! He got the biggest kick out of that and always made me laugh! It still makes me laugh when I think of it! We will always have those to remember!

What sad news. I work with Steve and he spoke so very well of his father. Just last week Steve & I were trading a chicken recipe, for this very BBQ. Our hearts and sincere condolences goes out to the family.

I am so sorry to learn of Donnie’s passing. We went to school together from 1st grade through 12th grade. He was a great guy. I know it has been a while since we all last talked but the one thing I always recalled when I thought of Donnie is how he often bragged about Jo and what a wonderful wife she was. He always said how lucky he was. I will miss his Facebook comments. He always made me laugh. Prayers to all.

I’m just shocked to learn of Donnie’s passing. He was a fun guy to talk to and listen to as well. He would call me once in a while when he needed a handle or something he thought I might have. I’ll miss seeing him in Kidron and his talks about politics ! RIP my friend .
