Iris A. Hale, 54, of Mansfield passed away Monday, September 29, 2025, at Ohio’s LifeCare Hospice.
She was born December 24, 1970, in Medina to Edward A. and Betty A. Bailey Johnson. On January 15, 2023, she married John Hale Jr.. He survives.
Iris had attended Medina Highland High School. She worked as an STNA for several years and was studying to be a nurse. Iris also worked as a truck driver. She loved traveling, writing poetry, crafting, raising animals, camping, fishing and music.
In addition to her husband John, she is survived by her mother Betty; daughter Elizabeth Lemon of Texas; stepdaughter Abbey Hale of Sandusky; eleven grandchildren; brothers Brian (Ina) Johnson of Jeruselum and Edward (Jesse) Johnson jr. of Creston; and many nieces and nephews.
Iris was preceded in death by her father and a brother Michael Johnson.
Funeral Service will be held on Friday, October 3, 2025, at 11:00 AM at McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster with Father Stephen Moran officiating. Interment to follow at Maple Grove Cemetery.
Friends will be received one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare, 1900 Akron Rd., Wooster, Ohio 44691.

Sincere condolences. Iris and I were friends when we were young. We drifted apart as we got older, but I always thought highly of her. I don’t recall a time when she ever treated anyone unkindly. I hope time has brought you all some peace.
