David Eugene Wolbaugh, 76 of Wooster passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare in Wooster.

David was born in Millersburg, Ohio on June 20,1949 to Robert and Hilda (Kettering) Wolbaugh.  He was a 1967 graduate of Smithville High School.  On November 28, 1969, he married Lorinda Sue Snyder.  He was a lifelong member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Smithville. He was a Vietnam War Veteran and worked as an industrial engineer at Orrville Products and Crown North America.  David loved and cherished his family and friends.

In addition to his wife of 56 years Lorinda, he is survived by his children and spouse Carrie (Nick) Abbott and Jared Wolbaugh; five grandchildren; sisters Carol Baughman and Janet Gabbard; nephew and wife Mike & Shelley Gabbard; and friend of the family Susan.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 31, 2025, at 1:00 PM at  the Loudonville Cemetery 339 South Wood St., Loudonville, Ohio 44842.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare 1900 Akron Rd., Wooster, Ohio 44691.

McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home 216 E. Larwill St. Wooster is assisting the family.

  1. I am SO sad to hear of Dave’s passing. He was a big part of our church family as well as being a friend. Lorinda. – know I’m thinking of you every day, several times a day. God has a good one with him!

  3. Deb and I are so sorry to hear about Dave. Dave and Lorida were such an important part of our time at St Paul’s. They were a real blessing to our family. Memories of Breadbreakers and Puppets always bring a warm feeling and a smile. Thoughts and prayers for you, Lorinda and your family.

  5. A heavy sadness weighs on me today, because Dave’s happy face and gentle voice has left this world. The memory will never leave, though. Please God, give his family extra special comfort at this time.

    Dave and I were football teammates for the Smithies in the 60’s. I don’t believe our paths have crossed since that time, until today. Please accept my sincere condolences and my prayers for all of you. May God gather us all at our appointed times.

  7. So sorry, Lorinda & family, for your loss. I worked with you back in the day at Green Leaf & I’m sure I waited on Dave a few times. He was slwsys so kind & I thought uou two were the cutest couple! May you find peace & comfort in cherished memories

  8. Dave was a father figure to me. He lived across the street from me growing up. He was an exceptional man. When I say exceptional. Dave was that and more. My family will miss Dave dearly. We love you Dave. Another time will pass but we will see you again man.

  9. I saw Lorinda last week. I felt her love for Dave and we ended up hugging for Dave. Cancer is a terrible. Can we help this epidemic. Its taking our loved ones.
