Gary Lynn Leisure went home to be with the Lord on November 4, 2025.  Gary was born May 22, 1954, to Glasford and Laura Leisure. Gary graduated from Bowling Green State University.  He worked at Gerstenslagers after graduation for several years.  He then moved to the Wooster Brush Company where he retired in 2021 after 35 years of service.  Gary loved his time at Wooster Brush and developed many friendships there.  While he started as an engineer some of his other added responsibilities included the phone system, supervisor of Quality Control, Maintenance and the Machine Shop.  Gary was in charge of the building enhancements the Wooster Brush did to their location on Madison Ave. from the 1990’s until he retired in 2021 working closely with Bogner Construction. Gary finished his career at the Wooster Brush Company as plant facilitator.

Gary met his future wife, Sharon Strouse Mount, at the Brush.  They married March 22, 1992.  Gary and his wife, Sharon, purchased 14 acres west of Wooster in November 1998.  They spent many years raising and showing registered Haflinger horses and enjoying farm life.  Gary also supervised the construction of their log home at the farm.  Gary was elected as the Ohio Director for the American Haflinger Registry where he served for 11 years making many friends.

Gary is survived by his wife, Sharon, son, Chris Leisure, granddaughter Raven Sky Leisure, brothers Jerry (Joy) of California and Darrell of Wooster, brother-in-law Steve (Patty) Strouse of Wooster as well as numerous nieces and nephews.  Gary was preceded in death by his parents and sister-in-law Judy (Darrell) Leisure.

Services will be held at the McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster on Saturday, November 8, 2025 at 10:00 AM with the Pastor Randy Moomaw officiating.  Interment will follow in Vermillion Cemetery (Haysville).
