Charles “Chuck” Mullett
April 11, 1949 – November 13, 2025
Charles Mullett, fondly known as Chuck, passed away on November 13, 2025, at the age of 76. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, quiet strength, and unwavering love.
Chuck was born and raised in Orrville, Ohio on the family farm. He graduated from Orrville High School in 1967 and went on to earn a Bachelor of Business Administration from Kent State University in 1972. The values he carried throughout his life—humility, hard work, and genuine care for others—were shaped in those early years and carried into everything he did.
He married the love of his life, Janet, in 1972 and together they shared 53 years of devotion, laughter, and adventure. He was a proud father to Jenny (Will) Belknap and Nick (Beth) Mullett, and a cherished grandfather to Noah and Cameron Belknap, and to Mitchell, Sebastian, and Gabriella Mullett. His family was his greatest joy.
Chuck began his career at Bauer Ladder as a foreman before joining McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home part-time. In 1974, he transitioned to full-time with McIntire’s, where he served families in this community with compassion, steadiness, and quiet dignity for decades. He retired on January 1, 2012, leaving behind a legacy of service and care.
He is also survived by his sisters Vicki Billheimer, Sandy Singer, and Joanne (Cary) Harper; as well as several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins, all of whom he held dear.
Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Edna (Schmidt) Mullett, and his brothers Jimmy and Ed Mullett.
An avid fisherman, Chuck found peace and happiness in fishing—especially during his treasured trips to his cabin in Canada. Whether casting a line or simply taking in the quiet calm of the water, those moments brought him deep contentment.
He cherished time with extended family, including monthly luncheons with his maternal cousins and weekly dinners with his sisters and wife – traditions that brought him great joy and connection.
More than anything, Chuck was his children’s and grandchildren’s biggest fan. He rarely missed a sporting event, school performance, or milestone, always cheering from the sidelines with pride in his eyes. His presence was a constant source of encouragement and warmth.
Known for his gentle spirit and genuine kindness, Chuck had a gift for making others feel welcome and valued. His compassion touched countless lives, and his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

I was sad to hear about the passing of Charles Mullet. I first became acquainted with Chuck, while serving in the role as deputy coroner for Wayne County. Chuck was always very friendly, outgoing and very helpful. He was very familiar with procedures when I was new to the coroner’s office. I will miss him.
