Danny Joe Mayes, 51, of Wooster passed away Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at the Avenue in Wooster.

He was born on July 31, 1974, in Charleston, West Virginia to Warren Teter and Pamela Mayes.

Danny was a collector of firearms and knives, he enjoyed working on both.  He loved tooling around town on his scooter.

He is survived by his  mother Pamela; his sons David Foster of Apple Grove, West Virginia and Taylor Davis of California; sisters Carol Teter of Wooster and Rachel Leach Fields of Columbus; nieces and nephews Jaden Leach of Dayton, Ohio, Marissa Stevens Williamson of Huntington, West Virginia, Sidney Stevens of Wayne, West Virginia, Hannah Stevens of Lancaster, Ohio, Scotty Jones of Gallipolis, Ohio, Orion Cox of Columbus, Ohio and Victoria Blake of Gallipolis, Ohio; 15 great nephews and 3 great nieces; good friends Greg Robins, Greg Dinguss, Ryan Corriveau, and Gage Corriveau; along with many friends from the Avenue.

Danny was preceded in death by his father Warren; sister Annie Teter; nephew Ethan Blake; grandparents Rosecenia & Lawrence Mayes and Glenda & Hubert Sharp.

There are to be no services.

McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster is assisting the family.

  7. Rest in peace Danny, my greatest memories of you and Greg talking on the phone for hours! I would tease Greg and tell him you guys sounded like two old women, sometimes laughing, sometimes arguing about a subject you didn’t agree on, some very intense conversation about subjects you did! But at the end of the day you were the best friend ever, you will be missed Danny!!! Prayers for your family 🙏🏻❤️

  11. I hope you find peace my friend. It’s going to be mighty lonely here on Wilson Rd. I loved our long chats by the chickens and giving you eggs and veggies. You were by best friend and I’ll miss you forever

  12. Rest in Peace Danny, I fondly remember all those camping trips on Rt.2 behind my mom and dads place. Lost track of you over the years. May the good Lord have an armory for you to play in.
