“Life is about dreams, hope and courage.  The courage to go on, even after those we love have left us.”

Jean Busick, age 92, born in Wooster, Ohio passed away peacefully on December 6, 2025, in Niceville, Florida.  She was born to the late Glenn and Edna Honeberger.  She was preceded in death by husband, Lowell Busick and sister, Sue Honeberger.

Jean is survived by daughter Joni Schuch (William); grandchildren Lindsay Leary (Matt) and Drew Schuch; great grandchildren, Grayton, Emma, Ellie and Gaines Leary.

She was a 1951 graduate of Wooster High School.  In 1955, she received her B.S. in Elementary Education from Kent State University and was married.  She completed a master’s degree in administration and reading from Kent State University in 1960.  Jean was a beloved schoolteacher in the Wooster City Schools for 36 years.  “My goal always was to make a difference in lives of others.  I felt this was accomplished through teaching and thoroughly loving it.”

Jean retired from the classroom in 1997. She continued to make outstanding contributions to her community.  Jean volunteered at the Wayne County Public Library.  For nine years she and a dear friend began Gravestone Gardeners providing service and care for loved ones’ graves.

Her hobbies included music, swimming, gardening and reading.

She was fortunate to travel in her retirement years.  Travel included a trip to the Canadian Rockies.  And cruises to the Caribbean, Mediterranean/ Greek Isles and China/ Yangtze River.  Family joined her on a very special Alaskan Cruise.  “Each trip was awesome beyond belief!”

Jean felt so blessed being with her beloved family while wintering in beautiful Destin, FL.  Her many special Wooster and Destin friends made such a difference in her life.

Her warmth, care and compassion towards others will be remembered always.  We loved her dearly and our treasured memories are countless.

A celebration of life will be held at the Little Chapel (Wooster Cemetery) at a later date.

Dr. Seuss reminds us, “Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened!”
