Christie L. Crawford, of Wooster, Ohio, was called home by the Lord unexpectedly on December 10, 2025, at the age of 55. Her sudden passing has left an immeasurable void in the lives of those who knew and loved her.

Born on September 11, 1970, in St. Louis, Missouri, Christie lived her life with quiet strength, grace, humor, and determination, and with a deep devotion to the people she loved. She remembered the small things and was the rock and foundation of her family. Christie had an extraordinary ability to know what others needed and did whatever was necessary—often without asking for anything in return.

Christie was a devoted wife to John L. Crawford, and the love they shared was the foundation of her life. Christie and John met in March of 1988, dated for eight years, and were married on March 7, 1997. They were married for 28 years and together for 36 years—best friends and soulmates. Their marriage was defined by deep love, mutual respect, and always putting one another first.

Christie was also a fiercely loving mother to her son, Devin T. Crawford, and a devoted “dog mom” to Muffin, Ruby, and Dolly. Her family was always her greatest priority.

Those who knew Christie will remember her loyalty, her infectious laugh, her beautiful smile, her strong work ethic, and the joy she found in visiting the beach and ocean, shopping, riding the motorcycle with John, and loving her dogs. She had a way of making ordinary moments feel meaningful, and her presence brought comfort and steadiness to everyone around her.

She is survived by her husband, John L. Crawford; her son, Devin T. Crawford; her beloved pugs, Muffin, Ruby, and Dolly; and many extended family members and friends who are grieving a loss beyond words.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a date to be announced later.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Christie’s memory to a local dog or animal shelter, something Christie believed deeply in.

Though her life ended far too soon, Christie’s love, kindness, and impact will live on in the hearts of those she touched. Christie will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.

McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster is assisting the family.

  1. Christie was an amazing friend to me when we were growing up together in St. Louis. We had so much fun together. My daughter Kelsey was the flower girl in Christie and John’s wedding!! Unfortunately we lost touch over the years but I had always hoped we would reconnect at some point in this crazy, busy life. To John and Devin, I am so very sorry for your loss and you are in my thoughts and prayers. I love you Christie. Rest in peace my dear friend.❤️

  2. My deepest sympathies to both John and Devin on this unexpected loss. Though I never met Christie, John talked son fondly of her that I just knew she was an incredible person. I know the pups will miss her too. Rest in peace Christie.

  3. Christie and I met through a mutual friend in St. Louis in our late teens. I attended her wedding to John, and she was so happy. The last time we saw one another was at a birthday party for her son while she was visiting St. Louis. He was truly the light of her life.

I send my deepest condolences to her family and beloved pets. May she rest in peace.
