James “Jamie” Curry Price, 65, of Wooster died on Saturday, December 27, 2025 in Wooster.

He was born October 23, 1960 in Kansas City, MO to James and Ethel Perkins Price, both of whom preceded him in death.  After his father returned home from service in the United State Air Force, Wooster, OH became the family’s home, where Jamie spent much of his life.

Jamie graduated from Wooster High School in 1980 and shortly thereafter enlisted in the United State Army.  He served as an E-4 and was stationed in Giessen, West Germany, where he worked in the 76 Whiskey P.O.L. unit and drove a tanker.  Jamie was proud of his time in the Army-not because of rank or recognition, but because it helped shape the man he became.  It was also during his time in Germany that he formed lifelong friendships with Luico Williams, Kenneth Daniel, Willard Frazier, Abdullah Mustafa (Greene), David Ramsey and Tim Walker-bonds that remained strong long after his service ended.

Being a father was one of Jamie’s greatest joys.  He was a loving and devoted dad to his children, Quintin (Lauren) Price and Jasmine (Roberto) Morales, and he was immensely proud to become a grandfather to Giovanni.  Jamie also held a special place in his heart for his goddaughter T’Andris Williams, whom he cared for deeply.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters, Enola Gay and Gwynne Kay.  Jamie leaves to cherish his memory his sisters Vicky (Michael) Steele of Coatesville, PA, Claverian of Wooster and his brother Stacy of Ypsilanti, MI along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

Jamie had a lifelong love for dogs and was rarely without one by his side.  He often said he had owned a dog his entire life, with Onyx being his beloved final companion.  A sharp dresser with a warm spirit, Jamie loved spending time with friends and dancing to old-school music-especially doing the two-step with his late sister, Gwynne.

Jamie will be remembered for his loyalty, his deep love for family, his generous spirit, and the joy he brought to those around him.  His memory will live on through the many lives he touched.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 16, 2026 at 12:00 PM at Second Baptist Church, 245 S. Grant St., Wooster with Pastor Gary DeHart officiating.  Interment will be in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Seville.

Friends will be received one hour prior to the service at the church.

McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster is assisting the family.

When I got my cancer diagnosis last July he was so kind and didn’t treat me differently. Which I sooo appreciated! He will be missed!

  39. My sincerest condolences to the family and friends of Brother Jamie. We met in Germany as young adults, being away from home and family we became each other’s family while we were there and this bond would continue over the years and like any family we would have our differences of opinions and still be there for each other. Jamie was a true friend and will be missed. I pray that the Lord gives the family strength, peace and understanding during this difficult time. I’m going to miss you my brother. REST IN PEACE.
