In Loving Memory of Mason Poore

Mason Poore, age 14

Mason Poore was a bright light in the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. At just 14 years old, Mason left behind a legacy far bigger than his years—one defined by love, loyalty, energy, and a heart that truly cared for others.

Mason was passionate and full of life. He brought energy into every room he entered and had a rare ability to make people feel seen, supported, and celebrated. Known as everyone’s biggest hype man, Mason genuinely wanted the best for those around him and never hesitated to cheer the loudest, encourage the hardest, or love the deepest.

He had a deep love for his family, who meant everything to him. Mason is lovingly remembered by his parents, Jamie and Zac Poore; his siblings, Caden Holliday (18), Lilianna Poore (18), Austin Poore (11), and Arabella Poore (8); his grandparents Carolyn Aukerman, Mike (Ann) Aukerman and Kathy (John) VanNortrick and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was surrounded by a large and loving family who will forever carry his spirit in their hearts. Mason is preceded in death by grandfather Joseph Poore; great grandparents Mike and Ruthie Aukerman, Bette Tarleton, Bruno Peterinelli and Uncle Brian Aukerman.

Mason also found joy in the simple things— Flammin’ Hot Cheetos, basketball, and time spent with those he loved. Basketball was more than a game to him; it was a place where his passion, teamwork, and boundless enthusiasm shined. He was deeply loved and supported by his Northwestern basketball team, a group that meant so much to him and to whom he gave his whole heart.

Beyond his family and team, Mason was cherished by many friends and an adoring, supportive community. His kindness, compassion, and loving nature left a lasting impression on countless lives. Though his time here was far too short, the impact Mason made will be felt forever.

Mason Poore will be remembered for his contagious smile, his unwavering loyalty, and the love he gave so freely. He was truly one of a kind, and his light will continue to shine through the memories, love, and lives he touched.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at 5:00 PM at Church of the Saviour, 480 Fry Rd. Wooster with Pastor Brent Durham and Pastor Paul Bartholomew officiating.

  9. Mason had a smile and personality that was infectious. He was the first to arrive to my class and would proclaim “I am locked in today” or “ not going to be a good day today”. He gave me his best everyday and was so pleased with himself when he solved a difficult problem. As he left class he would wish me a good day and tell me “see you tomorrow “. We played Tenzee the last day before break and his group won. Of all the prizes he could split with his partner, he only wanted the pink sunglasses. Prayers to the family

  19. Mason never failed to make anybody laugh. The most random things he would do would break any tension growing in the room without fail. Mason will be forever missed in the northwestern community. We shall get through this grief together, and navigate together. May the Poore family find peace in this difficult time.
We have all had amazing memories with Mason, moments that we took for granted, But all the things that were shared with him, and memories that hold close to our hearts, will be the fist things that we think about when we think of Mason. We all knew that basketball was a strong passion that he had, and had a good love for family and friends. We love you Mason. Fly high buddy, fly high🖤🖤🩷
