Atlee O. Saurer, Jr., 85, of Wooster passed away on Monday, January 12, 2026 at Wayne County Care Center.

He was born November 26, 1940 in Apple Creek to Atlee O. and Esther Marton Saurer.  Atlee graduated from Waynedale High School.

Atlee had worked for Apple Creek Development Center and then for Saurer Trucking.  He enjoyed watching TV, spending time outdoors berry picking and mushroom hunting, spending time with his grandkids.  He was a member of the Apple Creek American Legion.

He is survived his wife Linda Sue Edwards Saurer whom he has been with for over 50 years; children Rodney (Shannon) Saurer of Wellington, Machelle (Russ) Clayo of Seville and April (Robert) Graser of Wooster; grandchildren Elise (Jacob) Burton, Mason (Anna) Clayo, Timothy Graser and Courtney (Harley) Montgomery; nine great-grandchildren; siblings Larry (Linda) Saurer and James (Karen) Saurer.

Atlee was preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter Crystal Dawn Saurer; sister Letitia Dalrymple and brother Les Saurer.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at 11:00 AM at McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster.

Friends will be received one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

  8. My condolences to Linda and cousins Larry and Jim and all family members. It is so difficult to lose any member of a family. I will be keeping all of you in my prayers. We lived fairly close as children. I was 5 when he was born and remember him as a baby and toddler. Rest in Peace.
