Together Again
Mary Lou Leighty, 90, of Fredericksburg, passed away Friday, January 16, 2026, at Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare.
She was born on August 14, 1935, in Wooster to Howard and Olive Mae Bush Mohr. On October 10, 1956, she married the love of her life Thomas Leighty. He passed in 2019. They were married for 62 years.
Mary Lou worked at Wooster Brush and then retired after 30 years at Apple Creek Developmental Center as a Teacher’s Aid. She loved going and taking her grandkids to Cedar Point, going to the lake house, listening to Polka and old time Country, watching sports especially baseball, basketball and football and doing crossword puzzles. Her biggest love was spending time with her family.
Mary Lou is survived by her children Thomas Leighty Jr. of Wooster, Linda Sue Edwards of Fredericksburg and Danny (Norma) Leighty of Wooster; daughter in law Lynette Gantz of Wooster; thirteen grandchildren, many great grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband Thomas, she was preceded in death by her parents, sons Terry, Larry, Jimmy and Howard Leighty and stepfather Rene Rider.

Private family services will be held.
