Robert “Bob” Clinton Wilson, age 97, passed away peacefully on January 23, 2026, at home, surrounded by family, in Wooster, Ohio. He was born on April 26, 1928, in Richfield, Ohio.

He graduated from Richfield High School and worked for the East Ohio Gas Company as a supervisor for over 40 years. He also served as a Lieutenant on the Richfield Fire Department. In 1975, Bob and his wife Barbara, along with their family, moved from Richfield to the Wooster, Ohio area. He was a dedicated member of the Northwestern Ruritan Club for 45 years.

Bob had a zest for life and a wide range of interests. He loved camping with a group known as the Pack-Rats and enjoyed bowling. His daughter Kay was involved with horses and horse shows, and he delighted in traveling to watch her compete, proudly serving as a horse show dad. He was extremely close to his granddaughter, Ashley Allen, who lived with them during her high school years, and her husband, Chris Allen.

Later in life, Bob and Barbara owned a second home in Fort Myers, Florida, where they spent the winter months for 18 years. He enjoyed making and painting crafts with his wife and family, and he loved both indoor and outdoor games.

Most recently, Bob purchased an RV with his daughter, Diana, which brought him immense joy. He loved camping with family at Long Lake, riding around the campground on his golf cart, boating, fishing, and enjoying ice cream. He treasured the many friendships he made at the campground and the special memories created with family and friends.

He is survived by his children: Keith Wilson of Grafton, West Virginia; Diana (Alan) Millington of Powell, Ohio; Steve (Julie) Raines of Shirley, Arkansas; Amy Boreman of Wooster, Ohio; Coral Eash of Orrville, Ohio; and Kay (Robert) Moore of Charlotte, North Carolina, his brother and best friend, Larry (Sue) Wilson of Mount Juliet, Tennessee; his sister-in-law, Sonya Solomanoff of Wooster, Ohio; 21 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Bob was preceded in death by his beloved wife of fifty years, Barbara Mae Wilson; his parents, Fred and Orie Wilson; his sister, Lucille Dittoe; his brother, Richard Wilson; and his son-in-law, Scott Eash.

The family would like to offer special thanks to Wooster Community Hospital, LifeCare Hospice of Wooster, Ohio, and the New Pittsburgh Fire Department for their care and support.

A memorial service will be held at 2:30 PM on  Saturday, January 31, 2026 at the Congress Community Church, 10691 Franchester Rd., West Salem.
