Cheryl A. Nagel, 75, of Spencer, Ohio passed away Thursday, February 5, 2026, at Cleveland Clinic Main Campus.

She was born on November 5, 1950, in Wooster to Willard and Shirley Runkle First.

Cheryl was a homemaker and long-time dairy farmer.  She was a member of the Chatham Fire Department and Trustees.  Cheryl loved reading her Bible, farming and being a grandmother.

She is survived by her children Tracey (James) Schneider of Litchfield, Andy (Erin) Nagel of Allerton, Iowa; grandchildren Elian, Adam & Amina Zayed and  Wyatt & Dakota Nagel; sisters Diane (Dan) Welty of Fredericksburg, and Deb Defibaugh of Wooster.

Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents and a son David Anthony Nagel Jr..

There will be no services.

McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster is assisting the family.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Chatham Fire Department, 6429 Kohli Dr., Spencer, Ohio 44275.

  1. Cheryl was a great friend to me. She was very forgiving to so many. Our township benefited by her years of service on the fire department, as a fire investigator and as a township trustee. Her grandchildren meant the world to her, her 2 kids, her mom and her sisters.
    I am thankful our sons were best friends, and God crossed our paths many years ago. Rest peacefully my friend.

  2. Cheryl was an awesome friend! We work ed together and never was their a dull moment. She was always their for me through personel issues and she never had anything unkind to say. We drifted apart but I always new she would be their if I needed her. You will always be my best friend. God got a new angel. Prayers to her fami!y.

  3. Cheryl was one of my best friends from kindergarten thru high school. Lost touch after graduation. So sorry to here of her passing. Condolences to the family.
