Sadie Mae White, age 84, was called home to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at Mother Angeline McCrory Manor in Columbus, OH.
Mae was born on September 7, 1941, to Rueben and Sadie Reynolds in Lugoff, SC She accepted Christ and was Baptized at nine years old. She was a member of the St. Stephen’s Church in Camden, SC. Mae’s mother passed away when she was a toddler and she and her brother, Ned, were raised by their aunt and uncle, Sally and Thomas Cantey. Reuben worked for the railroad to financially support his children and frequently saw them. Mae was a 1960 graduate of Jackson High School in Camden, SC. In 1962 Mae would have her daughter, Beverly, in Camden, SC before the family moved to Wooster, OH for job opportunities. Once the family was settled Mae welcomed her son, Donny, in 1964. In 1965 Mae was introduced to her future husband, Frank White, by her sister Sally’s husband, Roger Kelley. Frank and Mae would date for five years before marrying on June 27, 1970. The couple would welcome their son, Frankie White, five years later.
Mae began working for Rubbermaid in Wooster in 1970 and she would retire from there in 2002. Mae was an active member of Second Baptist Church in Wooster, OH. Her church activities included the Strivers Club, Church Kitchen Staff, Deaconess, Sunday School Superintendent, Senior Choir and Missionary Work. Mae’s hobbies included gardening, cooking for her family, reading and crocheting. Mae loved spending time with her family, frequently telling stories of her childhood including picking cotton and life on the family farm. Her family relished hearing the stories of her youth.
Left to mourn Mae is her beloved husband of 55 years, Frank White. Her beloved sisters Lula, Bernice and Betty. Her loving children: Beverly Thomas of Columbus, OH; Donny Reynolds (Michaele) of Reynoldsburg, OH and Frankie White (Ryann) of Canal Winchester, OH. Her cherished grandchildren: Alex Thomas (Annie) of Dublin, OH; Deon White of Fort Lauderdale, FL; Aila White of Canal Winchester; Elizabeth Reisman Reynolds (Jon) of Medina, OH; Rowan Sanow of Reynoldsburg, OH and Matthias Sanow of Columbus, OH. There is also a host of nieces and nephews along with other family and friends that will miss her dearly.
Mae is preceded in death by her parents, Rueben and Sally Reynolds, her brother Ned “Sonny Boy” Reynolds, sisters Sally House, Barbara Griffith, brothers James Cantey, John Perry Cantey, Ronald Cantey, Thomas Cantey Jr and beloved grandson, G. Matthew Thomas.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2026 at Second Baptist Church, 245 South Grant Street, Wooster, OH 44691 with viewing hours from 10:30am until 11:30am with service to follow at noon. Immediately following the service, the family will proceed to Sherwood Memorial Gardens, where Mae will be laid to rest, located at 7067 Cleveland Rd, Wooster, OH 44691. The repass is to follow at the church.
The family entrusted McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster with Mae’s care and final arrangements.

Prayers and Condolences to the family I had the pleasure of taking care of Mae at Smithville Western and every time I had a break it was spent with her laughing and talking about good times going to miss her but she has gone on to Glory a place we all want to go to.
I pay tribute to a grand woman who was one of the kindest, most giving, and loving persons that I have ever met. She was always a gracious and generous hostess who made my family feel welcomed at her home, enjoying her home cooked meals, and participating in family activities.
Her smiles and laughter were actually parts of her voice as she spoke, ever cheerful and encouraging.
Let us acknowledge the blessing we have received in having been her friends.
Sadie was a wonderful women, she was always in a wonderful mood, no matter what was happening.
It was a great pleasure to work with her at Rubbermaid.
Sadie will be greatly missed by many. The good Lord called home a wonderful person, enjoy heaven Sadie.

Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning. Mae was a very beautiful and kind woman and loved her family. She spoke softly and I loved her smile and laughter. Praying for peace, comfort and strength in this time of the celebration of her life! Gone but never forgotten.

I was so deeply sorry to read about the passing of Sadie,I worked with her at Rubbermaid and i feel lucky to have known her, she always had a twinkle in her eyes. Sending my condolences to her family and wishing them Strength and Peace.
