Virginia “Ginny” L. Schubert, 83, of Wooster passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare.

She was born on February 22, 1943, in Wooster to Roy and Lucille Irvin Kinney.  On June 5, 1965, she married Robert Schubert.

Ginny was a 1961 graduate of Northwestern High School and then graduated from the Wooster Business College. She worked 11 years for at Wayne, Holmes, Medina Guidance Center as a secretary, then as a secretary for the Personnel department, and Animal Science department at the OARDC.  Retiring after many years. She then volunteered for many years at Wooster Community Hospital.  Ginny was an avid flower gardener.  She enjoyed her family especially her grandchildren and also loved dogs and always had one in her life.

She is survived by her husband Robert of Wooster; son Michael Schubert of Boardman, Ohio; grandchildren Finnegan, Lane & Gabriella Schubert; siblings Stanley Kinney, Mary Jane Kinney, and Kenneth (Patty) Kinney all of Wooster.

Ginny was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorial contributions may be made to Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare, 1900 Akron Rd., Wooster, Ohio 44691 or Wayne County Humane Society, 1161 Mechanicsburg Rd., Wooster, Ohio 44691.

A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, March 19, 2026, at 1:00 PM at McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster.

Friends will be received on Thursday from 11:00AM to 1:00PM at the funeral home.
