Jeffrey D. (Jeff) Mong, 51, of Wooster, passed away on March 15, 2026, at home after a 15- month battle with glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer.

Jeff was born on February 23, 1975, in Wooster to Donald and Carol (James) Mong and grew up in Wayne County in the Guerne and Shreve areas where he was active in Boy Scouts and FFA.  He graduated in 1993 from Triway High School and the Wayne County Schools Career Center.  On October 1, 2022, he married Christina Buck. She survives.

Jeff had been a self-employed truck driver for over 25 years. Prior to owning and operating his own tractor trailer, he drove for Mast Trucking in Millersburg and Advanced Drainage Systems in Wooster.  He was also a farmer and loved working in his fields. He enjoyed the outdoors, Allis Chalmers tractors and repairing farm machinery. He was a great “fix-it” guy; if something was broken, he could almost always figure out how to fix it. He was a very hard worker and preferred to keep busy.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his mother, sister Cynthia Mong, stepson Brody Poole, sister-in-law Tammy Buck, an uncle, several aunts and many cousins. He was predeceased by his father and grandparents.

Friends may call at McIntire Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home located at 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster, OH on Saturday, March 21, 2026 from 4:00-6:00 PM.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Jeromesville Fire Department Association, P.O. Box 102, Jeromesville, Ohio 44840 or to the Wayne County Humane Society, 1161 Mechanicsburg Road, Wooster, Ohio 44691.
