Ray Allen Wilson, 75, of Orrville, passed away on Thursday, March 19, 2026 at Akron General Medical Center.
He was born May 22, 1950 in Camden-on-Gauley, WV to Wardell Webster and Mildred McMillan Wilson. On December 29, 1970 he married the love of his life Nancy Sandy. Allen and Nancy shared a beautiful life together for over five decades, celebrating 55 years of marriage this past December. They were not only husband and wife, but truly best friends, having been together since they were young.
Ray had worked for Culligan Water Conditioning and was known as an avid outdoorsman who found great joy in nature. Seneca Lake held a special place in his heart for many years, where he spend countless days fishing, boating, camping, sharing laughter, and spirits with dear friends. He always looked forward to his annual trout fishing trips and time spent fishing on Lake Erie. Hunting season was a great time he spent with his boys and many of his friends at deer camp in Saint Clairsville.
Family meant everything to Allen. He loved watching wrestling-especially when his sons or grandchildren were competing-and he was always their biggest supporter. He also enjoyed cheering on Ohio State football, a highlight of the fall season. Allen had a fun-loving spirit, was always ready for a good time, and had a contagious love of laughter that will be deeply missed.
Along with his wife, he is survived by his sons Michael (Michele) Wilson of Orrville and Mark (Allison) Wilson of Dalton; grandchildren Michael Wilson, Jr., Mikayla (Adam Hale) Wilson, Ruger Wilson and Benelli Wilson; his in-laws Milford “Bub” Sandy and his wife, Helen (Tink) and many nieces and nephews.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Carol Cutlip and Freda McCord and a brother Howard “Vincent” Wilson.
Per Allen’s wishes there will be no services.
He will be remembered for his deep love of family, his laughter, and the many memories made on the water and along life’s journey with those he loved most.
McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster is assisting the family.
