Anita Louise Franks, 85, of Wooster passed away Tuesday, April 14, 2026 at West View Healthy Living.

She was born on April 21, 1940, in Orrville to Frank and Frances Irene Witmer Carney. 

Anita married Daniel R. Franks on May 1, 1959. She was a bookkeeper for Dalton and Hanna for over 25 years and was a homemaker. Anita loved playing tennis, playing cards and board games, bowling, volleyball, and going to Elks events with her husband.

She is survived by her sons Keith (Connie) Franks and Kirk (Bobbi) Franks both of Wooster; her grandchildren Kimberly, Kristopher, and Sydni Franks and Mallori (Brian) Schaad; her great-grandchildren Jakob, Lilley, and Sadie Millhoan and Kari and Greyson Schaad; her sister Maureen Tomassetti of Wooster;

Anita was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son Kyle Franks; her brothers Frank and Mike Carney; her sisters Connie Stefanko and Debbie Houmard.

Friends will be received on Friday, April 24, 2026 at 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster. Inurnment will be at the convenience of the family at Wooster Cemetery.

  5. Kieth, Kirk and families: sincere condolences on the loss of your Mom .Too sad, we were just talking about “Neeter” last week. Our class is getting smaller too fast lately. She was a great lady & she loved her family, friends, tennis and playing cards💕 Relax now with no pain as you join Dan in your new home in Heaven. I know he greeted you with love and open arms. 🙏🏻✝️

  8. My sincere condolences to all of the Franks family! I had the pleasure of visiting with Anita a few times when my husband I would visit in the home of Kirk and Bobbi during the summer. I also remember Anita made a very delicious apple pie! Anita was a very nice lady.

  10. Anita was a remarkable woman and did everything with joy! I knew her from bowling but she loved to play tennis also. I remember her delicious homemade caramels at Christmas time. Prayers & Peace for the family!

  11. Rest in peace, Anita, after this long struggle. I have so many happy memories of being at Dan and Anita’s, of family gatherings, of outings to Christmas Run pool and the drive-in theatre. Sending deep sympathy to my nephews and all their children and grandchildren. 🙏
