  20. Dear Cindy and Ben,
I am so truly saddened by news of Bob’s passing. We started out life together by being born days apart at the same hospital. We went through school together at Northwestern and then teaching at Triway for our professional careers. He will be missed!
You are in my thoughts and prayers!

  21. Bob and I rode the same school bus, and we would stop each time at his house; ‘the Top of the Hill’ to pick him up and then descend to the school down the road. Bob, like many of us, had a flat top hair cut and was always considerate.

We lost touch over the following years, but from comments here and the work Bob did over many years it would appear he led a productive life with many friends and enjoyed considerable success with his students. Our high school credo, Knowledge is Power, was one he took to heart and shared with others.

It is a tribute to his family and friends to have had a life well-lived; and it is certain he appreciated all who were in it.

  62. A standout in my memory as a 1979 Triway graduate. He inspired a high American History average and made it fun, we had many impromptu class forums in preparing for the real world without the “sugar coating”, we felt respected and reciprocated in kind. Mr. McCauly was a true mentor to many.

  63. Mr. McCauley was a fine history teacher. I learned so much in his class including how to write. I enjoyed keeping stats for him and Coach Taggert all four years at Triway. Once I graduated from KSU, Bob hired me in the middle of the year as a high school tutor and recommended me for my first full time teaching job at Bellevue High School near Sandusky. I am still teaching high school English 42 years later on the west side of Cleveland thanks to teachers like Bob. The impact he had on me is not forgotten; I’m grateful for his mentorship. My deepest sympathy to you, Cindy, Ben, and the entire family. May the impact he had on others bring you some comfort.

He, along with Mr Force, Coach Brenner and Coach Pim made me want to be a teacher and a coach so hopefully I would have the same impact on kids as they had on me.
