Acelia Dorene Tyo, 76, of Apple Creek, died on Sunday, May 17, 2026 at West View Healthy Living.

She was born December 31, 1949 in Potsdam, New York to Harold and Barbara Bandy Clark.  On May 27, 2000, she married Pat Tyo.  He preceded her in death in 2022.

Acelia had worked in retail most her career, spending her las 28 years at Walmart.  She enjoyed going to her Bible Study Group and gardening.  She loved hummingbirds and spending time with her family.  She was a member of the Good News Baptist Church.

She is survived by her children Phillip Adkins of Wooster and Matthew Adkins of Messena, NY; grandchildren Darrian Adkins and Bill Campbell; great-grandchildren Harlow Carpenter, Rhett Carpenter, Wrynn Flechler and Klyde Flechler; siblings Kelley Arnold of Rogers, AR, Marty Clark of Saint Robers, MO, Trish Clark of Potsdam, NY and Barbie Williams of LA along with many nieces and nephews.

Along with her husband, Acelia was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Cheryl Rabbitt, Lola Charleson, Mary Crump, Donnie Clark and Beth Borrowman.

Services will be held on Sunday, May 24, 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Good News Baptist Church, 238 N Milton St, Smithville.

McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster is assisting the family.

  2. Lifting the family up in prayer ! I worked with Acelia at Walmart for over 20 years. She was a special lady who was a very hard worker. Praying family finds peace and understanding during this difficult time.
