“Together Again”
Phyllis J. Finley, 83, of Wooster died on Saturday, June 13, 2026 at her home.
She was born December 8, 1942 in Wooster to Rollo A. and Ruth E. Wohlford Franks. On July 23, 1966, she married Gerald D. Finley. He preceded her in death in 2022.
Phyllis had worked at Bosch Rexroth and was an advisor for Girl Scouts and was a 4-H leader. She was a sports fan who enjoyed cheering on the Cleveland teams as well as Ohio State and Triway. Phyllis loved mowing her yard and listening to marching band music. She took great pride in helping raise three generations of children.
She is survived by her daughter Chrstine Finely of Wooster; son Timothy (Cathy) Finley of Orrville; grandchildren Ariel (Alex) Walton, Alec Larson and Ashton Larson all of Wooster, Brendan Niehaus and Madeline Finley both of Orrville; great-grandchild Noah Finley of Wooster; sister Rosemary (Gary) Shaffer of Kingsville along with many nieces and nephews.
Along with her husband, Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents and a great-grandchild Juniper Mae Larson.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, June 19, 2026 at 1:00 PM at Sherwood Memorial Gardens, 7067 Cleveland Rd., Wooster.
Friends will be received on Thursday from 5:00-7:00 PM at McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster.

condolences to family and friends. I have known Phyllis for a very long time. We worked at cordex together and Bosch Rexroth.
She was know as the news paper lady. For if you needed to know anything Phyllis could tell you. Rest in peace. You will be greatly missed.
I’m sorry for your loss. I knew Phyllis as one of the older girls in the neighborhood around Maple Grove. Her parents and my parents were friends. It was a joy to reconnect with her a few years ago at a Triway Alumni dinner.
Such a loss for Phyllis’ classmates from Class of 1962 of Shreve High School. She was the ‘town crier’ for many years, keeping all of us informed of class news as well as local area news and events. You will be missed, Phyllis!
Aunt Phyllis loved to play baseball with the kids at the family reunions. She was a great referee and took no prisoners. There was always something happening when she was around! And oh, that potato salad she could make, it was the best ever! She rivaled her husband Jerry in fishing and taught the kids to fish as well. We will miss you Phyllis, but trust you are enjoying baseball in Heaven.
