Monica Lou Wallace, 67, went home to be with the Lord on June 17, 2026 at Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare in Wooster.
She was born on May 13, 1959 to Henry and RoseMarie Tomasetti in Wooster, Ohio.
Monica graduated from Wooster High School and the Wayne County Vocational School in 1978. For 35 years, she was a dedicated employee in the dietary services department at both Smithville Western Care Center and Westview Healthy Living.
Nothing mattered more to Monica than her family. Growing up as the middle child in a family of 5, she was the perfect combination of feisty yet fiercely loyal. Despite her spunky, one-line comments that would keep the family on their toes and leave them laughing, everyone knew that deep down, Monica sincerely loved them and wouldn’t have traded her family for anything.
Holidays were Monica’s favorite times of the year. She was determined to make sure that family traditions, like watching the 4th of July fireworks together or ringing in the New Year as loudly as possible with noise makers, were on the calendar. No matter what the occasion, Monica loved going for a drive to get ice cream, playing “scummy,” attending her nieces’ and nephews’ sporting events or shows, and a good s’more around a fire with her family.
Monica is survived by her mother, RoseMarie Tomasetti, and 4 siblings, Nancy Sustar, Liana Tomasetti, Eric (Cory) Tomasetti, and Lisa (Ray) McConnell. She is also survived by 6 nieces, 5 nephews, and several great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Henry Tomasetti.
Because of her faith in Jesus, Monica knew that her life here on earth was only temporary. She was a true overcomer. Through many difficult days, she conquered the obstacles in front of her with determination and trust, fully believing that one day she would be welcomed into Heaven, free from the sickness and burdens of this world. What joy she is experiencing now!
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2026 at 3:00 pm in the chapel at Westview Healthy Living, 1715 Mechanicsburg Rd., Wooster.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Parkinson’s Disease Association.
McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster is assisting the family.

I worked with Monica at smithville western in dietary back in the 90s she always made the job fun, had the biggest laugh and was a great person!
Monica was a blessing from God. Sweet and kind she was loved by many as she loved many. God bless her family.

Monica was one of my favorite people. I loved working with her at West View, and looked forward to our almost daily exchanges. A tremendous worker, faithful Christian sister, and beloved Resident, I loved playing music for her. My deepest condolences and love to the family. I will truly miss her.

I’ve known Monica since High School, but we didn’t become good friends until years later when we reunited as coworkers at West View.
We would giggle and say “hi” as we passed each other in the halls as we each did our jobs.
Most recently we would take time to stop and chat with each other. You had such a huge heart and love of life, it showed in all you did.
You will be missed but not forgotten. Rest in peace sweet friend.
