Barbara A. Pearce, 88, of Wooster died on Thursday, July 23, 2026 at her home.
She was born January 16, 1938 in Wichita, KS to Maurice and Delores King Martin. On November 16, 1957 she married William J. Pearce. He preceded her in death in 2007.
Barbara had been a bookkeeper for Friendly’s Restaurant and then later for Buckeye Container and Buehler’s. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and enjoyed quilting, gardening and was a phenomenal cook. Barbara volunteered her time at the Wayne County Public Library.
She is survived by her children Laura (Robert) Wirth of Wooster and Michael (Laura) Pearce of Essex Junction, VT; grandchildren Joe (Elsie) Wirth, Shelby (Logan) Krites, Tyler (McKaylee) Wirth, Tucker (Payton) Wirth, Julie Pearce and Alexander Pearce; 9 great-grandchildren and a sister Linda Thornburg of Topeka, KS.
A Service of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, July 29, 2026 at 11:00 AM at McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster. Interment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery.
Friends will be received one hour prior the service at the funeral home.

Barb was such a sweet person and a great neighbor. Her basal and Christmas cookies were outstanding! I always enjoyed sending over some food off the grill too! We have many great memories of Barb and we feel for the family! Thoughts and prayers go out to you all!

In the 4 years we’ve been neighbors, we’ve come to love Barb! I was always impressed that she was comfortable texting! Barb was young at heart!
Barb will forever be in our hearts. She was the most thoughtful sweet friend and neighbor. We are going to miss her beyond words. We shared many laughs and food treats and looking out for each other. Ed is going to miss delivering her mail everyday and catching up on how she was doing. Our love and prayers go to Laura and Mike and all the family. We loved your mom.
I feel honored to be Barb’s friend, as she was a private individual. I’m so happy to have been able to establish a friendship with her. We shared many New Years Eve meals of crablegs, and laughter until our sides ached. I know when reunited with Bill there were hugs, laughter and time to talk about “remember when” stories. Next,it was time to catch up on everything important to them that has occurred in the 19 years they had a time of temporary seperation when Bill passed. Sympathy to the family members, but you also enjoy discussing memories, and hold them dear to you hearts. Rest in God’s care my special friend.
Barb was one of the nicest woman i ever met. She and Bill came into Applebee’s for years on Monday nites with about 13 friends. Wow they sure had alot of fun.
