Pamela “Pam” Sue Howell, 71, of Wooster died on Thursday, July 23, 2026 at Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare.
She was born February 15, 1955 in Wooster to Richard Lee and Elizabeth Irene Davis Howell.
Pam worked in direct care at the Apple Creek Development Center, retiring after more than 30 years. She enjoyed camping, going to the ocean, playing POGO and going to ACDC reunions. She had a quick wit, always had a snappy comeback and was just plain ornery.
She is survived by her long-time partner Mark Bowman of Wooster; daughter Regina (David Chapman) Howell of Sterling; grandchildren Tyler Howell, Justin Howell and Elizabeth (Zach) LaRocca; 7 great-grandchildren; mother Elizabeth Auble of Wooster; sisters Karen (George) Bersch of Burbank; Jaren Edwards of Apple Creek; step-sisters Robin (Roger) Weidus of Brunswick and Tracy (Bill Fabian) Stacey of Brookpark and her special canine friend Gunner.
Pam was preceded in death by her father and step-brother Lloyd “Nicky” Mowrer.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

I’m so sadden by this, we lost contact over the years when I moved to pa. you and Mark helped me settle in at Cortland hall. I was more scared than anyone knows,but you and Mark. Held my hand, and showed me how to fit in,and care the best I could, and still be ok when I went home. I didnt even know you were ill.Fly High my friend.

Pam, I’m sorry you’re already sleeping when I came to see you on Monday at hospice. I think you knew I was there, though. I know we didn’t see each other much in the last few years, but I can’t help but remember with a big smile some of the shenanigans we got into when we were younger.
