Bernard “Dale” Holliday
November 4, 1939 – July 26, 2026
Dale Holliday, 86, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.
Dale shared 67 wonderful years of marriage with the love of his life, Fronie Holliday. Together they built a family rooted in love, hard work, and lasting memories.
He retired from Orrville Trucking after many years of dedicated service. Retirement never slowed him down, as he continued spending his time working alongside his longtime friends at Tom’s Salvage, where he enjoyed the camaraderie and friendships he cherished.
Dale was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother. He was outgoing and never met a stranger. He helped everyone that needed it and had the most infectious laugh. He was a very hard worker and took pride in everything he did. He is survived by his loving wife, Fronie Holliday; his children, Thonya (Ken) Ballard, Candy Holliday, Beverly Mitchell, and Toni Thompson; his daughter-in-law, Kelly Holliday; his brother, John (Sherry) Holliday; 17 grandchildren, two of whom preceded him in death; 31 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Buggs Holliday.
Dale will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his dedication to his family, and the friendships he built throughout his life. His easygoing nature, unwavering love, and generous spirit touched the lives of everyone who knew him. He leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue through the many generations of his family.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
Services will be held at a later date.

I don’t even know where to begin. You have been one of the greatest blessings in my life a wonderful man with the biggest heart. Knowing you won’t be here much longer breaks me in ways I can’t explain.
I want you to know how much I love you and how thankful I am for everything you’ve done for me. I’ll cherish every memory we made together for the rest of my life. From going camping, riding motorcycles, building trucks and cars together, and all the laughs we shared, those moments will always be some of the best parts of my life. I still remember how you’d call me just to check on me, and I never minded driving hours just to come see you. Every mile was worth it because spending time with you meant everything to me. You’ve always believed in me, cared about me, and loved me when I needed it most. I hope l’ve made you proud, and l promise I’ll keep doing my best to make you proud every single day. It hurts knowing that one day I won’t be able to see you, hear your voice, or give you a hug. But I know you’ll always be with me in my heart, and I’ll carry everything you’ve taught me for the rest of my life. Please keep watching over me, Papa. I need you now, and I’ll always need you. Thank you for being the incredible man you are and for loving me the way you did. I may never understand why God takes the people we need the most, but I thank Him for giving me the privilege of calling you my grandfather. I wouldn’t trade a single moment we shared. I love you more than words can ever express. You’ll always be with me. I love you forever, Papa.
Thinking about u in heaven with my daddy and my brother brings such a big smile to my face. Ur finally reunited with ur mom and dad and I know how much u missed them. U were an amazing man grandpa and I love u with all my heart and soul. I hope u remembered to give Dale and my dad a big hug from me. Until the day that my time has come I will carry everything all 3 of u taught me and hold it close to my heart. I love you Papa rest with the angels now
