Robert “Bob” David James, Jr., 59 of Ashland passed away on Monday, July 27, 2026 at Ohio Health in Mansfield after an extended illness.

Bob grew up in Fredericksburg, graduating from Waynedale High School with the class of 1985.
Bob was a shift team lead at GoJo of Ashland.
Bob will always be remembered for his strong work ethic, sense of humor, willingness to help others, the joy he got from cooking especially BBQing, the care he gave his vehicles, not to forget his love for the casinos and Keno. His love for his fur babies, and the love for his family and friends. Bob was a son, big brother, uncle, and friend.
Bob leaves behind his fur babies Jazzy and Hank, his parents of Fredericksburg, his sister Susan D. James of Millersburg and two nephews Robert Miller and Jesse Miller both of Millersburg.
It was Bob’s wish to have no services. A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.
The family would like to thank Bob’s cousin Chris Moore, special friends Teresa Robinson, Travis Anderson, Greg Kithcart and all their families for all the help, support and loved they gave Bob during the good and bad times. Showing what true friendship really is. Thank you also for being there for his little sister.
Sadly, missed by his family. We love you, Bob.

😔seeing it on here just makes it seem more real that I will never see my big brother again. I love you and always will.
Bob was a great guy. He left us too soon. We will miss him
Gone too soon, my good friend. You will long be remembered. I’ll never forget your laugh and your great sense of humor. And you’ll always be remembered as a great guy. I can honestly not think of any bad memories of you. RIP
Psalm 23 is on my mind.
I am so sorry to hear of Bob’s passing. Even though we lost touch over the years, I will always remember Bob’s incredible kindness and the friendship we shared.
I’ll always remember him as a great friend from junior high, through high school, and into adult life. My military career caused a long gap of not seeing him and a group of us have been able to get together periodically in the last few years. His kindness and sense of humor will be two things I remember most about him. I’ll miss you, my friend and our get togethers will be different but we’ll keep them going. That’s what he’d want. Rest easy.
I am so sorry to hear of Bob’s passing. I send my condolences to the the family.
I’m so sorry to hear about Bob’s passing 😥 I met him while we were in High School cruising town. We hung out and cruised town together off and on for a while. He ALWAYS had a big smile on his face and such a sweet personality to go with it. We had a lot of fun together! I can still close my eyes and hear his laugh after all these years! We lost touch he was a couple years older than me and we also went to different schools. My thoughts and prayers are with all of his family and friends 🙏🏻 I’ve often thought and wondered how his life turned out but definitely didn’t expect it like this! Rest In Peace Bob!
Bob was one of my closest friends in High School and early adulthood. He always had an easy going personality, great sense of humor and showed love and kindness to everyone. You will be missed by all my dear friend.
Like Mary, I remember Bob’s smiling face and always happy when seeing him cruising town with his friend. He was a little older than us. And that was back in the 80s.
Rest in Peace Bob.
Condolences to his family.
I have very fond memories of the summers of 85 and 86 cruising downtown Wooster with Bob and the silly phone calls. My thoughts and prayers are with the family.
Worked with Bob for many years. He was so easy to work with, he would laugh and joke with you which made each day just a little better. The last time I saw him I just happened to see him on his way to work so I followed him, parked beside him and we talked about everything and nothing for a few minutes. I will always remember him as one of the ‘good’ guys
Dear Bob & Jean,
I am so sorry to hear of your son’s death. Hold the precious memories in your hearts.
