Elizabeth “Betty” Irene Auble, 93, of Wooster died on Saturday, August 1, 2026 at Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare.

She was born October 7, 1932 in Wooster to A.I. and Lena Mencer Davis.

Betty retired from Crown Steel and had also worked at International Paper and Buckeye Ware/Regal Ware.  Betty was a worker, always outside working and keeping busy.  She enjoyed camping, traveling and wintering in Arizona and Florida.  Betty especially enjoyed shopping with her sister Ruth, spending hours going to stores then splitting a meal and ending the day each with their own Hot Fudge Sundaes.  She attended the Christ Church of Christ in Orrville.

She is survived by her daughters Karen (George) Bersch of Burbank and Jaren Edwards of Apple Creek; step daughters Robin (Roger) Weidus of Brunswick and Tracy (Bill Fabian) Stacey of Brook Park; grandchildren Stacey Mackey, Ammerist (Kyle) Waitkunas, Bridget Edwards, Brenda (Brad) Keller, Blair Casto, Bryan Edwards and Gina Howell; 19 great grandchildren; 13 great-great grandchildren and her sister Ruth Berry of Lucas.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; husbands Richard Howell, Lloyd Mowrer and Hollis Auble; daughter Pamela Howell; brothers William Davis, Robert Davis, Richard Davis; step-son Lloyd “Nicky” Mowrer and brother-in-law Lyle Berry.

Per her wishes, there will be no services at this time and cremation will take place.  A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in conjunction with her daughter Pamela’s service.

McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster is assisting the family.
