Barbara Jean Hoffman, 67, of Wooster died on Thursday, August 6, 2026 at West View Healthy Living.

She was born September 18, 1958 in Wooster to James R. and Charlotte Allison Hoffman.

Barbara had worked as a Nurse’s Aid in the area and enjoyed playing in the band during High School; gardening and loved her cats.

She is survived by her sister Brenda (Ron) Kersten of Westerville and a niece Melissa Smiley of Galena.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Brian Hoffman and James “Bob” Hoffman.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 13, 2026 at 2:00 PM at McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster with Rev. Dr. Brent Durham officiating.  Interment will follow in Moreland Cemetery.

Friends will be received one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

  1. I used to work at West View, and Barbara was one of my favorites. She had a great personality , and she loved to joke around and laugh a lot. She often talked about growing up in Moreland on the farm . I will miss her, she was a sweet and special woman .

  2. Brenda, Ron and Melissa-I am so sorry to hear about the passing of Barb. It has been many years since I have seen Barb. She was always so nice and remembered things from our childhood-why my Grandma Anna Mae Franks and her Grandma Grace Hoffman were still loving. Our grandmothers were sister. RIP.

  3. I had worked several years at Horns N.H. with Barara Jean and she was a joy to work with. I was also able to visit her at Westview and we spent quite a bit of time “talking about our time working at Horns. Prayers for peace and comfort to you all.
