Terry Gordon Smith, 84, of Wooster died on Tuesday, August 11, 2026 at Wooster Community Hospital.
He was born February 26, 1942 in Wooster to Gordon and Maxine Huff Smith. On November 16, 1984, he married Linda Lou Sampsel. She preceded him in death in 2014.
Terry retired from Aber Automotive after many years of service. He was a member of Joy Baptist Church in Orrville as well as the Wooster Eagles and the American Legion. Terry loved to bowl and was an avid racecar fan. He had played softball and baseball for many years.
He is survived by his children Patricia (Mike) Curtis, Desiree (Bruce Graham) Lutsch, Jon Jaynor and Pam (Todd) Young all of Wooster, Ronnie (Stacey) Jaynor of Smithville and Brian (Barb Ashby) Smith of Elyria; 17 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.
Along with his wife, Terry was preceded in death by his parents; son Robert Jaynor; one granddaughter and a brother Bob Smith.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2026 at 4:00 PM at McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster with Pastor Buddy Bevington officiating.
Friends will be received from 2:00 PM until the time of service on Saturday at the funeral home.

Terry, you will be missed by so many. I will miss you stopping by the office to tell me those corny Three Stooges jokes! And so many racing stories and talks about our Mustangs.

So sorry to hear about his passing. We spent so many days and evenings talking over the years, and he was always willing to lend a helping hand.
His VCR Broke and I found one at WalMart and purchased it for him to enjoy.

He loved to mow our grass and even turned the riding mower into a Dale Earnhardt #3 rider, with the number 3 on both sides. Those are memories I’ll always cherish.
He was a really great friend, and I’m truly glad I had the opportunity to know him. I’m also sorry that I lost touch with everyone in Ohio after I moved to South Carolina.
My thoughts and prayers are with his family and everyone who knew and loved him.
