Robert A. Chizmadia, 74, of Wooster died on Thursday, August 13, 2026 at Wooster Community Hospital.
He was born November 10, 1951 in Wooster to Steve and Nellie Franks Chizmadia.
Robert retired from Nick Amster. He had been one of the original 6 participants at Ida Sue School which was organized by Mrs. Blackwell. He loved working on puzzles and reading his bible.
Robert is survived by his brother Steve (Denise) Chizmadia of Wooster along with several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, August 18, 2026 at 1:00 PM in Wooster Cemetery.
McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster is assisting the family.

I am also saddened by Bob’s passing. I will never forget that kid running around your yard playing croquet. And he always beat me in checkers!! I’m glad he always read his Bible. Lots of wisdom there! RIP Bob. I’ll see you again someday!❤️
I worked at the Care Center. I loved him. He was so nice n could definitely be funny. He was always reading his Bible in his room. My condolences during this difficult time!
I will miss Bob’s smile! I enjoyed working with him when I would volunteer at the Wayne County Care Center. He always brought a smile to my heart and face.
Robert was one of my favorite residents at the Care Center when I worked there. He had the sweetest smile & I will always remember it & him. My deepest condolences for your loss, Steve & Denise. Heaven gained a true angel. Robert will be missed.
Steve and Denise I’m sorry for your loss of Robert. I know you were devoted to him and showed him in many ways. He did love to work on puzzles and he read his Bible faithfully. I enjoyed teasing him about keeping a piece of the puzzle before he could finish.
He gave the best hugs. He was kind, loving, and cared about others. He was a simple man, literal. If he joked with you, he loved you. He fondly (for him) called me the Warden. When I was the director, in his mind I was the warden. We laughed about this many times. He had a great sense of humor. The fake snake was his trademark.
I know he’s missed already. I loved him dearly. Rest in peace Robert. You’ve earned your wings to fly to heaven. ❤️💔
Steve I am so sorry for your loss. I have so many wonderful memories of Robert through out the years (even though he called me a knucklehead ❤️). I can see him running into the arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus! RIP Robert.

I cared for Robert on night shift, many years ago at the WCCS. He usually woke up in a good mood, but, on the occasion he didnt, turning on Green Acres, or The Beverley Hillbillies, always did the trick.
May he find rest, and you find comfort.
So thankful, I got to care for him. He loved giving hugs, and his laugh was one of a kind. RIP Chiz!

So sorry to read of Bob’s passing. I got to know Bob in 1964 when I ran the first summer day program at Ida Sue and I had him several years in my class as his teacher. My stepdaughter, Pam
Bower, was also with Bob as one of the originals and her dad as I’m sure your dad was instrumental in building the school. If you have pictures of those early years, I’d like to see them.
