Together Again
Judith Kathleen Carson, 83, of Wooster died on Sunday, August 16, 2026, at Wooster Community Hospital.
She was born on February 20, 1943, in Wooster to Cecil and Mary Marton Edwards.
Judith was married to Arden Carson on March 20, 1966.
She retired as a lab technician at the OSU OARDC and was a nurse at the Apple Creek State Hospital and Wooster Community Hospital. She was a member of Central Christian, where she was a Sunday School teacher and children’s choir director for many years.
Judith is survived by her daughter Katy (Scott) Wiley of Polk, OH; grandson Kyle Wiley of Wooster; sister Barbara Pauley of Valparaiso, IN; and sister-in-law Betsy Edwards of Lakeville, OH.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, granddaughter Kaitlin Wiley; brothers Jewell (Virginia) Edwards and Marvin Edwards; brother and sister-in-law Don and Mary Jane Carson; brother-in-law Bill Pauley; and her beloved Pug Reba.
Services will be held on Friday, August 21, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Central Christian Church in Wooster with Rob Kastner presiding. Interment will follow at Sherwood Cemetery.
Friends will be received one hour prior to the service at the church.
McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster is assisting the family.

My sincere condolences and sympathy to Katy, Scott and Kyle. Judy was a delightful cousin and such fun to hang out with. She enriched many lives throughout her life. We all shared her most contagious laugh that enhanced our day and lighten our mood and minds. I have many fond memories of Judy. May she rest in peace in the Arms of Our Lord.
Judy and I were roommates in nursing school and remained friends although we didn’t see each other very often. So many great memories of fun times! I can still hear her giggle! My condolences and prayers to her family. Praying you find comfort in the many warm and wonderful memories you have made.

My memories of your mom are full of laughter. Judy and I found so many things to laugh about through our long history of friendship. We would laugh in the good times and comfort each other in the bad times. We shared many things, including close wedding dates and close birth dates of you and Rhonda. We shared vacations and holidays, too. Your mom had so many talents – toll painting, quilting, sewing. I even remember when she helped launch the Com-pat-ibles flower shop all those years ago. She loved all of her dogs, and we have photos of your mom with her first one, Molly. Your mom and your dad were very special people to us and I’m happy they are together again.
Judy and Arden were such a huge part of our family for many years. We celebrated holidays together, went on vacations together, and enjoyed their company on many visits in between. Arden was a friend of our dad’s and Judy was a friend of our mom’s before each couple married a year apart – Arden and Judy in March 1966 and our parents in March 1965. Judy had such a creative spirit, and was a talented artist. I remember taking a group toll painting lesson from her, and she was such a good teacher. We all painted apples on wooden plaques, and mine looked pretty good until I got to the leaves. But Judy was patient and encouraging, and helped me fix my awful-looking leaves. When my grandma passed away in 1978, Judy painted and decoupaged a beautiful plaque for my mom that borrowed from a lovely poem,
“STILL must you climb, if you would rest:
The bird soars upward to his nest;
The young leaf on the treetop high
Cradles itself within the sky.
You cannot in the valley stay:
The great horizons stretch away!
The very cliffs that wall you round
Are ladders unto higher ground.”
This is for you now, Judy. May you rest in perfect peace.
I am so sorry for your loss. I worked with Judy at OARDC. She was a joy to work with – so much fun! Judy was a real treasure. Miss her.
