Marcus E Sigler, Jr, age 86, went peacefully to the Lord on Friday, August 21, 2026 at the JAG Burbank Healthcare facility after several months of declining health.
Marcus was born May 10, 1940 in Wooster to Esther (nee Becker) and Marcus V Sigler. A lifelong resident of Wooster, Marcus was a long distance owner-operator truck driver. He also raised animals at the small family farm. In retirement, he operated a small engine repair business, as well as driving the Wooster Community Hospital van.
Marcus married Sharleen (nee Reidenbach) on April 30, 1960 and they recently celebrated 66 years together. After his high school graduation, he attended The Ohio State University studying Agriculture Economics. Marcus enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading, doing puzzles, and fixing many things – mostly from his years of farming and owning his semi. He also enjoyed taking his family on several lengthy trips around the United States. He was a leader at his church and helped with many functions in the community.
Marcus is survived by his wife, a son, Michael of Rittman, and a daughter Rebecca (Mike) Burkholder of Wooster; grandchildren Travis Wyatt, Jana (Steven) Carozza, and Jeff (Neely) Burkholder; 11 great-grandchildren (10 great-grand daughters and one great-grandson, and another great-grandson on the way); 2 sisters Ethel (Ray) Mason of Wooster, Charlotte (Blake) Sheneman of Orrville; a brother William (Brenda) Sigler of Wooster, 3 nephews, and 5 nieces. He is preceded in death by his parents, his son in-law Mike, and a grandson Kyle Burkholder.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 26, 2026 at 1:00 PM at Plain Lutheran Church, 4830 Blachleyville Rd., Wooster, OH with the Reverend Rob Moskowitz presiding. Internment will be held privately at the church cemetery.
Family and friends will be received from 11:00 AM until the time of service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude’s Hospital or the Wounded Warrior Fund.

Was a great guy, His neighbor Sandy Carpenter recommended him to fix my lawnmower. He never over charge. Very amusing fellow to talk to. My his family have piece and God’s love in his passing ❤️

My deepest condolences to Charleen, Becky and Mike. Marcus was old school, hard nose and sometimes hard headed Truck Driver. He would not give up that Green and White Freight Shaker. I think it is still setting out at Pattons. Being a Driver myself I could understand him most of the time. After 45 yrs. of being neighbors of Marcus and Charleen I could not ask for better people. They were there when my Wife passed 5 yrs ago. I could go on and on what a great man Marcus Sigler Was. RIP My Friend.
Mr Sigler is what I called him he lived down the road from me,he sharpened my blades for my mower,was a good talker.he wife and I went to the same high school.we had are talks through the yrs.so sorry that illness is bad for the family to go through my mom had it to.blessings for the family.

I have known Marcus and his wife Sharleen for many years. His wife’s sister Dorthy was my mom’s best friend. When I would have appointments he would pick me up in the hospital van and drive me to them. He was a wonderful person. May his family have peace and comfort during this time.
