Patricia “Patty” Jenkins, 59, passed away peacefully on August 23, 2026, at the Wooster LifeCare Hospice.
She touched everyone that knew and loved her in a special way. And she will be remembered for being sweet, yet sassy, and oh so loveable. Patty loved The Sound of Music movie along with Singer Johnny Nash. She loved to dance and smile with those she loved.
Patty had a small community of people that may not have been related but were her family. Her Midwest caretakers: Shelly, Cora, Angie, Stacey, Amy Akasha …, provided her care 24/7 with a servant’s heart often sacrificing their own family time. Her Nick Amster work mates and Staff who loved her deeply Her Midwest Community friends Marshall, her housemate, Anna, of many years was like a sister to her. Her Wayne County DD Case worker Rachel who advocated with passion for the best care and quality of life possible. And her guardian of 13 years, Lori Schrop who’s life will be forever blessed beyond measure by Patty’s delicate and feisty soul.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, August 27, 2026, at 1:00 PM in Wooster Cemetery.
McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster is assisting the family.

I was deeply saddened to hear about Patty’s passing. It was a true privilege to advocate for her. I will always remember her resilience, bright smile, and warm hugs. Sending condolences to all the lives she touched, and to Lori, who was with Patty through it all.

In the around 20 years that I knew you and cared for you, I learned to love you. I feel you felt the same about me. Life is not the same without you. I miss picking on you, laughing and dancing with you, watching movies with you over and over again. Love you Pea and the many nicknames we had for you and your ornery smile. I enjoyed learning about Patty through Lori’s stories and pictures. It takes a special soul to be a guardian, and I’m thankful that God blessed Lori and Patty with each other.

Where do I begin sweet Lady? We spent so much time together both at your home and mine my girls knew and loved you so much and I’m sure you them as well as was evident your smile. From taking you to the store to out to eat and our walks in Johnson’s woods to listening to music to watching movies together on the couch. I will forever miss you Patty but I will always carry you with me as well. Love you to the moon and back. Save me a spot in Heaven my angel girl.
