Linda Sue Reichert, 76, of Wooster died on Sunday, September 20, 2026 at Burbank Parke in Burbank.
She was born October 13, 1949 in Lodi to John and Bonnie Boatner Crumley. On May 10, 1969, she married Donavon “Don” Reichert. He survives.
Linda had been a homemaker, a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church and had been a 4-H advisor for over 23 years. While raising sheep, Linda acted a midwife to the ewes when they were lambing. She taught herself to spin wool into yarn so she could knit, a skill she learned in High School. Linda was the past president of the Wooster area Sheep Improvement Association and co-secretary/treasurer of the Ohio Corriedale Club with her husband for 25 years.
Linda started the Great Lakes Fiber Show in 1996 with fewer than ten vendors in one building at the Wayne County Fairgrounds over a Memorial Day weekend. In 2016, when she handed the show over to another group there were over 100 vendors in five buildings plus several workshops.
Along with her interest in sheep and spinning wool fiber, she was a beekeeper and a former member of the Tri-County Beekeepers Association. Linda was also a six-gallon blood donor with the Red Cross.
Along with her husband, she is survived by her children Donavon “DJ” (Lisa) Reichert and Lynnessa (Ray) Casto both of Wooster; grandchildren Keynan (Jessica) Jones, Austin (Hannah) Howman, Gwynneth (Kym) Moore, Taylor Howman, Brandon (Cassie) Casto; great grandchild Hadley Jo Howman; brothers Leslie (Liz) Crumley of Burbank and Jan Crumley of Kent; and several nieces and nephews.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Jeanne Neff.
The family would like to thank the Burbank Parke Care Center and Nivalis Hospice.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 29, 2026 at 1:00 PM at McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster with Chaplain Jill Bleisath officiating. Private interment will be at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Seville.
Friends will be received on Tuesday from 11:00 AM until the time of service at the funeral home.
Contributions may be directed to St. Peter Lutheran Church, 9451 Ashland Rd., Wooster, OH 44691.
