WOOSTER “ Walter Charles Bowers, 77, of Wooster passed away on Sunday, April 14, 2019 at the Cleveland Clinic.
He was born April 17, 1941 in Wooster the son of Frank and Ethel Conrad Bowers.   He married Sandra Bunt on April 29, 1962.   She survives.
He retired in 2007 as a truck driver from Wooster Motor Ways with 30 plus years of safe driving awards. He had previously worked for Wooster Lumber Company.   Walter enjoyed fishing, hunting, farming, softball, basketball and traveling.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his children:   Brenda (Michael) Wile-Schalmo of Shreve, Diane (David) Barrios of Mansfield and Walter II (Wendy) Bowers of Wooster;   grandchildren, Patrick (Heather) Schalmo, Megan (Patrick) McDonough, Austin and Kelsie Wile, Veronica, Gabriela and Casandra Barrios, Madeline and Alexander Bowers; 2 great-grandchildren with one on the way; his siblings, Roy (Doris) Bowers, Wilbur (Alverda) Bowers, Doyle Bowers, Earl (Audrey) Bowers, Paul (Juanita) Bowers, James (Judy) Bowers, Duane (Janet) Bowers and a multitude of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Ellen (Bowers) Horst and a sister-in-law, Thelma Bowers.
Friends will be received on Friday, April 19, 2019 from 5-7:00 p.m. at the McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Dr. Faith Proietti officiating.   Burial will follow in Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
Those who wish may make memorial contributions to any Hospice of the donor ™s choice.
