WOOSTER “ Allan Stuart Neilson Jr., 94, of Wooster passed away on Tuesday, June 9, 2020 at West View Healthy Living.
He was born June 8, 1926 in Buffalo, New York, the son of Allan and Edith Warne Neilson.   He married Ann Louella Boyer on June 3, 2951.   She preceded him in death on June 2, 2010.
Allan retired on July 1, 1988 after 40 years in the dairy business.   He had also spent 26 years as a computer programmer and had been a part-time driver for Performance Pontiac after retirement.   He was a member of the Wooster United Methodist Church, the V.F.W., Charter member of the 555th Honors Detachment of Wayne Co., The Wayne Co. Historical Society, very active in the Wayne Co. Farm Bureau and had done the accounting for Meals on Wheels for many years.
He proudly served his country with the U.S. Navy from 1944-1946 in the Pacific Theater.
Surviving are his children Ronald S. Neilson and Barbara (Steve) Grenert both of Wooster; grandchildren Stephanie (Josh) Grenert-Clegg of Wooster and Christopher (Stephanie) Grenert of Pelham, AL; 4 great-grandchildren and a sister Elaine Crater of Michigan.
In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Marilyn Strock.
Private family services will be livestreamed from the Wooster Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 15, 2020 on the McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Facebook page with Rev. Jim Cooper officiating.

  3. I remember Mr. Neilson as our milk inspector many, many years ago. Always fair in performing his duties , and also enjoyed my mother’s fresh pies on occasion.

  6. Barb, sorry for your loss. Rarely do I go online into the Daily Record, but I did this morning….reading about your Father’s passing. I remember many conversations with your parents before/after the Church Service at Wooster United Methodist Church. They were such gracious and kind people. Hopefully you and your family feel God’s presence in the days and weeks to come.

  7. We were sorry to hear the sad news about Al from Dorothy. Knowing he had a good life, with many friends, will hopefully help his family and friends through these sad times. There are many amusing Al stories we remember, including when someone said they would love to see a car race between notorious slow drivers Al and Jim Miley! Our sincere condolences to the family.

  10. We are so sorry to hear the news Barb and Ron. I just learned today of Uncle Al’s passing. There were some mighty good times growing up in Boyerville and he will be missed.
