WOOSTER –  Alvice N. Rumburg died July 10, 2017 at age 81.  
Born September 7, 1935 to Warren and Violet Rumburg, Al grew up on a Seville, Ohio dairy farm with sisters Evelyn and Anne. After years of honing his craft, Al grew to be an accomplished carpenter, putting those skills to use within his own business, building homes and doing remodeling across Wayne and Medina counties. His impeccable work earned him awards and endless praise.   Al closed his career as a carpenter at The College of Wooster, where he was a long supporter of Fighting Scots basketball.
Al, a member of Central Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), was a man of deep faith, serving God, the church, and all people in many faithful ways as a Deacon, Elder, and lifetime Trustee.
He will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband to his beloved wife Verna of 54 years, a committed and loving father to his children Greg (April), Kim (Patrick), and Jon (Julie), a proud, caring Grandpa to Violet and A.J., a deeply respected brother-in-law and a cherished uncle to many nieces and nephews.  
Al was a friend to all, kind, considerate, and compassionate, who cared for his family, friends, animals, and the environment in any way he could, even if only prayerfully.   He will be immensely missed, but his spirit will remain.
Friends may call Friday 6 to 8 p.m. at McIntire, Bradham, & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster.   Rev. J. Alexander will officiate a celebration of life Saturday at Central Christian Church, 407 N. Market St., Wooster at 1 p.m.  Interment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
