WOOSTER – Anna L. WELLS, 92, died Sunday morning at West View Manor Nursing Home.
Anna is the daughter of the late Daniel and Anna (Sprenkle) Nusbaum of Bluffton, Ohio. She was born February 24, 1917 and was married to Nelson E. (Pat) Wells for forty-four years. Nelson died August 23, 1982.
Anna graduated from Bluffton High School and worked at Triplet Electric in Bluffton prior to marrying Nelson. She and Nelson farmed outside Bluffton until they moved to Wooster in 1959. She was a homemaker and mother primarily, but worked part time as a baby sitter and at the Gift Corner in Wooster. She was active in the women’s circle at the First Presbyterian Church in Wooster as well as serving on many committees at the church over the last fifty years.
Surviving are her children, Robert Wells of Summerville, SC and Daniel Wells of Portland, Oregon; seven grandchildren, John Ike, Patrick Ike, David Ike, Cindy (Wells) Wiktor, Cheryl (Wells) Patterson, Sarah Wells, Emily Wells, and seven great-grandchildren
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her brother Christian Nusbaum, her sister Susan and her daughter Sara (Wells) Ike.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the 2:00 P.M memorial. service at the First Presbyterian Church, 621 College Ave., Wooster, OH 44691 on Sunday, February 14, 2010 with the Rev. Jeff Paschal officiating. Burial will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery in Bluffton, Ohio on Monday, February 15 at 11:00 A.M. .
