Barbara Joyce Fisher, 79, of Wooster died on Monday, August 16, 2021 at her home.
She was born August 9, 1942 in Salem, OH to Clifford and Eileen Price Eick.   She obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Ashland University and her Master ™s degree in Counseling from Akron University.
Barb had been a home Economics teacher at Ashland Jr. High School, taught in the Vocational Food Service program at Ashland Holmes JVS and Wayne County Schools Career Center and had been the OWA Coordinator and Vocational Guidance Counselor at Wooster High School.   She loved teaching and never found a student unworthy of her attention.
She was a fifteen year 4-H leader and assisted with the Skill A Thon for many years.   Along with Betty Bridenstine, she organized the Chester Happy Helpers 4-H Club and started the Udder Kids Goat 4-H Club while raising and showing Nubian Dairy Goats with her daughters.   She had led the Old Stone Church Choir and was the bell choir director, Sunday School teacher, led Bible School music classes, helped with The Elderberry Pie Bazaars and baked Elderberry pies for missions.   She had been most recently attending Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
Barb loved to garden, especially roses, loved living on a farm and enjoyed traveling and cooking.   The most important things in her life were her six children and their families, her friends and her church.
She is survived by her daughters Rebecca Mueckler of St. Louis, MO, Robin Herman of Gallatin, TN and Renee (Jim) Chinn of Grove City, PA; step-children Duper (Michael) Pallotta of Wooster and Kenneth (Colene) Fisher, Jr. both of Wooster and Todd (Sherri) Fisher of Columbus; grandchildren Haley Kain, Carter and Chloe Chinn, Kenneth (Emily) Fisher III, Adrean Fisher and Joe Massaro; great-grandchildren Savannah Grace Kain, Jaxon Davis, Louie and Willow Albright and Theodore Fisher; siblings Bruce (Linda) Eick of Perrysville, Brenda (Leonard) Walton of Polk and Bryan (Linda) Eick of Wooster.
Barb was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Kenneth Fisher Sr., who was her greatest love, in 2015.
Private graveside services will be held at the Reedsburg Cemetery.
McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster is assisting the family.

Box 628200, Orlando, FL 32862-8200.

  6. I will miss Barb greatly! She was a counselor at Wooster High School when I attended and always wore a smile! I got to know her better when she subbed for us at the WCSCC. The students, staff, and I think the world of her! I got to know her better and more personally when we sat next to each other in choir at Pleasant Hill Baptist church. She loves her family so very much and her energy, enthusiasm, and loving spirit are cherished.

  10. I am so deeply saddened by this loss for our community and your family. I attended Emanuel church with Barb and have so many fond memories of her teaching us to ring the bells in the bell choir. She was so full of energy and created a beautiful expression of joy for the Lord through our music. Her elderberry pie baking efforts are legendary! She will be so very missed and please know your family is in my thoughts and prayers at this very difficult time.

  17. Sympathy is going out to Barb’s family. We had many conversations about 4H back in the good old days. I always enjoyed talking to her. I wish I had the chance to have one of those wonderful pies I heard about. I’m sure she will still be baking. May memories give comfort and peace.

  20. Barbara was a neighbor, friend, and the 4-H advisor for both of our daughters, Barbara & Patricia. She was a wonderful person who would do anything she could to help anyone. Went to church with her at Emanuel church too. Robin was in our Barbara’s class at school. Renee was in between our 2 sons classes. My deepest sympathy to all the family.

  22. Barb was my class mate of the 1960 Northwestern class.One memory was that she was a part of group of us that went canvassing around Chester Township for class fund raising project!! She helped to raise funds that helped fund class trip!! Also she was great part of our class reunions planning committee .Also was to credit fellow class mate Emerson Still for his wonderful support of her in her last dats!! Emerson is to be praised for all his helps to those in distress!! Barb==RIP
