Barbara Susanne (Catlos) Leonhard died Sunday, April 3, 2022.

She was born at home on April 9, 1936, to Michael and Elizabeth (Balog) Catlos in Youngstown, Ohio.

Barbara loved music, history, animals and her family.  For a time, she studied piano under Olga (Booth) Jacoby.  In high school she was a member of the Boardman Spartan marching band under Richard Bame’s directorship.

While attending The College of Wooster, she sang with the Women’s Chorus; follow Stu Ling in The Fighting Scot Marching Band and was a member of Kappa Epsilon Zeta.

She taught eighth grade history at Wallace H. Braden Junior High School in Ashtabula.

She married Norman Leonhard on November 22, 1961.  They moved to Wooster in 1999 and joined First Presbyterian Church.   They were a closely united couple until his death in 2006.

Barbara enjoyed all aspects of the Wooster community, developing friendships and adding memories that built on what she had experienced during her student years.

She is survived by her sister, Lynn Catlos; brother Mark (Joni) Catlos; nephew Michael Catlos and his wife Beckee Milton and niece Jayne Catlos and special aunt Gizella (Balog) Varkonda and numerous cousins.

The family is grateful to the staff and clients at The Gilcrest Centers in Doylestown and Wooster.  Their care enriched Barbie’s life over the last seven years.  Special thanks to Chrissie, Lindsey and Roger for their friendship and care.  Last, but not lease: Thank You to Linda Patterson who was so much more to Barbie than a caregiver.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at 11:00 AM at First Presbyterian Church, 621 College Ave., Wooster with Rev. David Rice officiating.
