Beverly Jane “Bev” Barr Hayes, 83, of Wooster and formerly of Danville, CA, died on Monday, November 8, 2021 at her home.

She was born December 10, 1937 in Wooster to James and Florence Nussbaum Barr.  On December 17, 1961, she married her husband Everett Hayes.  They were just shy of celebrating 60 years of marriage.

Bev was a homemaker but had worked for Rubbermaid before she and Everett moved to California in 1976 and then while in California, she worked as receptionist at a Country Club near Danville.  She was graduated from Wooster High School in 1955.  She enjoyed crafting, making cloth lined baskets, knitting and crocheting blankets.  Bev loved all animals.

Bev was a committed member of the Community Concern for Cats in Danville for over 18 years.  Every day, twice a day she would travel to two feral cat communities and make sure the cats would have food.  It didn’t matter what the weather, she made sure the felines had food.

She is survived by her husband, Everett; a son Bryan (Sarah) Hayes of Davis, CA; grandchildren Madeleine and Carson Hayes; brother Lawrence (Linda McDonald) Barr of Mission Viejo, CA and several nieces and nephews.

Bev was preceded in death by her parents and a step-father Scott Brown.
