WOOSTER “ Calep L. Cook, 69, of Wooster passed away Tuesday, August 20, 2019 at his home.
He was born June 30, 1950 in Greenville, Alabama, the son of Washington and Nelize McMeans Cook.   He married Carolyn Butler on May 14, 1980.   She survives.
Calep had earned his bachelor ™s degree and had been a CNC Operator and supervisor for Wilburt in Orrville for 16 years and had previously worked as a butcher.   He was very proud of his 54 years of employment.   He was a member of the New Life Assembly in Wooster and was a member of the Just Us Incorporated Club in Cincinnati.
He loved fishing, football, especially the Cincinnati Bengals and spending time with family and friends and telling his stories.   Calep was a very loving and devoted husband.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Carolyn, are his children, Erica (Jada Louis) Butler of Wooster, Tyra Kimberly Cook and Kristy Cook both of Cincinnati and Krystal Cook of Austin, Texas; grandchildren, Shanae Davis of Philadelphia, Edasia Crossty of Wooster, Tavius Cook of Cincinnati, Antonio Crossty of Wooster and  Ra’mon Wheeler  of Cincinnati; great-grandchildren, Tavius Cook, Jr. and Kamiya McDonough and siblings, William Cook of Cincinnati, Audrene (Butler)Plant and Darryl Plant of Detroit; great-aunt Pearl of Greenville, AL;  niece Lynnel Taite and nephew Linsey (Diana) Taite both of Cincinnati and niece, Tiffany Butler of Detroit and nephew Dion (Deandra) Butler of Cincinnati and a host of additional great nieces and nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister and brother-in-law, Mary (Linsey Sr.) Taite and a brother Dip Cook.
Friends will be received from 2:00 PM until the time of the service at 3:00 PM on Saturday, August 31, 2019 at the Wooster Church of the Nazarene, 3100 Oak Hill Road, Wooster with Pastor Nathan Ward officiating.
McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster is assisting the family.
