Mr. Carl Franklin Douthitt, 89, of Wooster passed away into the loving arms of his heavenly father while surrounded by his family on Thursday, December 19, 2019.
Carl was born December 17, 1930 in Dukedom, TN.   On January 27, 1952, he married Patricia Hadden, who survives.
He was a retiree of Ford Motor Company, was a farmer and managed the Dairy Operations at The University of Tennessee, before retiring in 1995.   He served his country in the U.S. Army during Korea.   He was affiliated with the Church of Christ and was a Mason and a member the Coventry Lodge No. 83, F.  & A.M. in Akron, Ohio.   He could fix anything, tearing apart tractors and reassembling them.   Carl had a natural ability with animals, was  always happy and smiling, and was there for his family.
Along with his wife, Carl is survived by his daughters Joyce (Donald) Bowman Jr., of West Salem and Elizabeth (John) Eisterhold of Houston, TX; grandchildren Melissa Garver of Los Angeles, CA, Scott Garver of Lorain, Lauren Rogers and Victoria Rogers both of Houston, TX and Emily Garver of Wooster; great-grandson Bryce Michael Castillo of Houston, TX.
He was preceded in death by his father; Samuel  Reed Douthitt; His Mother;  Tommie Holmes Haywood  a son; Michael Reed Douthitt and a sister Sammie Bennett.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. (Central Time) Friday, December 27, 2019 at Maplewood Cemetery 408 N. 6th Street  ,Mayfield, KY 42066.  
McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster is assisting the family with the local arrangements.

  1. We are thinking of all of you during this time of loss. Carl was a treasure to all of us who knew him, and he certainly is at the center of many of my most fond memories in my younger years. Our thoughts, prayers, and love will remain for all of the family, to which Carl was so dedicated and thoughtful.

  2. We are so sorry that Carl has passed away. No one loved his family more than Carl did. He was a kind and loving husband, father and grandfather. Peace and love to the family.

    We are praying for you all and believing for peace for you during this time of grief and joy as you remember the husband, father, and grandfather that Uncle Carl was. We are taking time today to remember and give thanks for Uncle Carl and the times we had with him.
