Cecil Alexander Trumphour, 82, of Wooster died on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at Smithville Western Care Center.
He was born September 2, 1939 in Defiance to William and Naomi Shenberger Trumphour.   On May 28, 1988, he married Barbara Jarvis.   She survives.
Cecil was a 1957 graduate of Wooster High School and retired after 30 ½ years from the OARDC where he worked on the farm crew.   He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, the Wooster Moose and various bowling and softball leagues.   Cecil was an avid fan of the Browns, Indians, Buckeyes and the Smithville Smithies.   He loved fishing and attending his grandchildren ™s activities.   Cecil served his country in the U.S. National Guard.
Along with his wife, Cecil is survived by his children Tammy (Todd) Johnson of Creston, Anthony John Stretch of Wooster, Tish (Jeremy) Fatzinger and Trevor (Jennifer) Stretch both of Smithville; grandchildren Ashley Lippolis, Brittany Rufener, Caity Steiner, Tara Wright, Shiloh and Trenton Johnson, Brooke, Breanne, and Bailey Fatzinger, Zoie Conrad, Aubrey and Ahna Trumphour; great-grandchildren Camron, Conner, Hadley, Vegah, Copeland, Cecil and Adrian; sister Pat Randall of Shreve.
Cecil was preceded in death by his parents; children Pamela Jo Trumphour and Michael Trumphour and a sister Connie King.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at 1:00 PM at McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster with Rev. Dr. Alan Nathan officiating.   Interment will follow in East Union Cemetery.
Friends will be received on Tuesday from 6:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home.

  1. Zoe,Barb,Connie,& the rest of Cecil’s family: we are so sorry to hear of his passing.He was a great neighbor to us at one time.Cece was an inspiration to so many people after his accident at OARDC.May he rest without pain wrapped in Jesus arms.

  5. Cecil and I alway talked Cleveland Browns and Buckeyes. I grew up on a farm and by golly we had some good times.

  6. My deepest sympathy in the passing of your dear husband, father, grandfather. My husband Phil graduated with Cecil…… always considered him a special friend. I knew Cecil for over 50 years… having met him during the many years Phil and I were together. Always kind and enjoyed talking with him. Prayers are with the family.
