Charlotte Bishop, 94, of Wooster passed away on Friday, August 26, 2022 at Smithville Western Care Center.

She was born July 23, 1928 in Newark, New Jersey, to Joseph A. and Ruth Wyckoff Robbins.  On February 20, 1960 she married Floyd Bishop who preceded her in death.

Charlotte’s life was remarkable for its courage in the face of adversity and her ever-present sense of humor.  She was adamant in her advocacy of animals, and always protective of family.  The bookends of her life, and all between were marked by a love of reading and the joy of words.  She loved puns and any play on words!

Charlotte graduated in 1984 with a B.A. from Loretto Heights College (Denver, Colorado) where she took several nursing courses.  In keeping with this life-long interest, she also taught first aid and was a Charter Volunteer Emergency Medical Technician in Pacific Junction, Iowa.  She earned a pilot’s license and loved flying.  She was a member of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship in Wooster, and previously a long-time leader of UU youth groups.

She is survived by her son Bert Bishop (Kay Bowen) of Wooster; sisters Nancy Arnold of Mercer Island, WA and Esther J. Griggs of Spokane, WA; as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Joseph A. Robbins, Jr.
